2019 Human Resources Conference

Human Resources Conference Save the Date April 18 2019

Topics for the HR Conference include:

  • Defending Through Documentation.  An overview of employment law issues that HR professionals need to know, and then ties in the importance of effective documentation.

  • Fair Labor Standards Act issues for Healthcare providers.  As I mentioned when we spoke, FLSA Class Action lawsuits are currently on the rise.

  • Medical Marijuana—What Ohio Employers Need to Know.  This is  the “wild west” of employment law—brand new and uncharted territory.

  • #MeToo—What Does it Mean to Me?—What employers need to know about sexual harassment in the time of #MeToo.

  • Managing Employee Leaves—the Bermuda triangle of Workers Compensation, ADA, and FMLA.  This topic would be well-suited for group discussion with scenarios.

  • Onboarding – Learn about a new LeadingAge toolkit that provides resources to engage new team members right away with the goal of increasing retention.  The toolkit goes beyond the regulatory checkboxes of orientation, covering five key principles of engagement.

Registration and additional details will be added soon.  For questions regarding the HR conference, please contact Anne Shelley, Director of Professional Development and HH/Hospice Regulatory Relations, at 614-545-9030 or email ashelley@leadingageohio.org
