Course Description

A unique course for those who are new to the Quality requirements for survey processes or who may need a refresher. 

Key milestones in the quality journey that professionals face daily in their roles, including information management, quality and performance improvement, leadership and management, healthcare and patient safety, regulation, and accreditation will be presented.  Whether new to quality or a seasoned professional, this offering provides you with education and information that should spark your interest to become formally recognized as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.

OAHQ Reserves the right to substitute faculty or rearrange the program due to unforeseen circumstances.  A continental breakfast is included.  Lunch is on your own with options available on the day of class.

Presenter: 

Dr. Claflin has over 30 years’ experience in quality.  She received her CPHQ in 1987, and was named a Fellow of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (FNAHQ) in 1999.  Active board membership has occurred both nationally and in her hometown state of Arizona including Presidential roles in NAHQ (2004) and the Arizona Association for Healthcare Quality (1996 and 2007).  She has served on NAHQ’s Board of  Directors in different roles, including Alternate NAHQ Representative on The Joint Commission’s Hospital Accreditation Program Professional and Technical Advisory Committee.  NAHQ’s Distinguished Member Award was presented to Nancy in 2007. With over 20 years of local, regional, and national speaking experience, she shares her expertise on a variety of healthcare quality topics with those preparing for PHQ certification and those desiring to enhance their own knowledge base.   Nancy is an editor of the eighth edition of NAHQ’s Guide to Quality Management.
