Geriatric Skilled Interventions

Provided By: Summit Professional Education

It is estimated that by the year of 2030, the population of adults over the age of 65 will exceed 70 million. The fastest growing age group will be 85+ years of age. Age-related changes such as poor nutritional up-take, connective tissue changes, cardiopulmonary changes, and chronic painful syndromes can lead to a decline in the musculoskeletal system and ultimately diminish their quality of life. All of which can greatly effect mobility and functional activities. Therefore it is imperative that therapists are equipped to best manage this aging population.

This one day workshop will provide participants with practical evidence-based application of assessment, evaluation and intervention for musculoskeletal changes in older adults in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and home care.

This course is designed to engage the participants through case studies, video clips, and lab sessions for immediate application of course material.
