Purpose: This course is designed as a review of Schedule II drugs commonly used in hospice and palliative care, including interactions, considerations for special populations, side effects, and durations of action. (Please note this course will meet partial requirements of APNs with prescriptive authority but is not intended to meet requirements for the 6 hours of education required before prescribing Schedule II drugs.)
Course Objectives:
- Discuss pharmacological considerations of Schedule II drugs for specific populations.
- Describe factors that impact prescribing of Schedule II drugs.
- Discuss current Ohio Schedule II Controlled Substance regulations and rules.
